A Daily Thank You

Our lives are sooooo busy but are we so busy that we forget to say thank you to The One who woke us up? Are we so busy that we don't make time to acknowledge our Father and Creator for breathing life into us once again. We are blessed to see each day. God has a plan for us and we have a purpose to fulfill. Every morning, instead of reaching for the phone to check your messages, preparing breakfast, before your feet even hit the floor just lie there and say "Thank you God". In that moment, you are acknowledging God and the gift of life you have just received.

I have incorporated a daily thank you in my schedule. My mom has always told me, "People make time for what they want". When you are in a relationship you make room in your schedule to spend time with that individual. Same goes for God. You have a relationship with Him so make room in your schedule to spend time with God. You are never to busy to give God a praise for the blessings you have in life. You wouldn't be able to eat if it wasn't for Him, you wouldn't be able to drive to the mall, spend time with your significant other, enjoy a good movie if God had not woken you up that morning and blessed you.

I like to thank God through my tithing. The Bible says to bring your tithe/firstfruits to the storehouse. My tithe is an offering to Jesus but also my way of saying thank you for blessing my finances so that I can be a blessing to others, that I am able to offer a tithe to Him, that I can provide the basic necessities for myself. Thank you God!

A verse that I love to meditate on says, "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of Heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be enough room to store it." This is from Malachi 3:10. When I read this verse I am reminded that in my tithing God has not forgotten me. Some of you may be wondering if this verse really holds true. Well, I can tell you from experience that it does! Tithing is just one way I personally thank God.

I enjoy thanking God while I'm walking to the bus stop, making breakfast, riding in the car, and various other daily activities. In this world sometimes finding joy in every moment can be difficult. Focusing on the sun in the midst of a storm can be challenging, but not impossible. Remember to give thanks to God whether through your actions or your voice. He is listening and watching always.
